“We want to offer and promote wholesome food products that have minimal environmental impact, are authentic and traceable, that use the best of traditional know how, are healthy, simple, innovative and artisan.”
Partnership
In 2019, a partnership with SWISSAID was established in order to set up the first certified
organic shop in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania in collaboration with Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT) and the Tanzania Organic Agricultural Movement (TOAM). We source organic produce from farmer groups in Mtwara, Lindi, Morogoro and Bagamoyo, who have been trained in organic agriculture by SWISSAID.
Together with our partners we want to improve livelihoods of smallholder organic farmers. In addition, we want to find innovative ways to empower and inspire women and youth to be part of this growing movement by creating consistent markets for organic produce.
It is also our aim to support adults and children to become food literate and conversant with food systems. We want to find creative ways of engaging them to help raise awareness and increase knowledge in organic farming focusing on: how food is grown; how food nourishes us; how organic farming impacts the environment and relates to resilience to climate change; and how food is prepared, marketed and sold.
Our motivation is to establish programs around agroecology, urban gardening and celebrate real and holistic food.
